This dramatization focuses on a control and monitoring theme. Language and memories are washed out, now and then are confused and outer events can not be detached from beliefs and fantasies.

I created a big, claustrophobic, white tunnel, representing Big Brothers eyes as well as a room within the main character Winston´s head.

Projections pictured the all seeing Telescreen or painted the construction with abstract environments. A hidden back room served as TV-studio for live camera footage projections. When Winston believes he is dwelled in a secret room, he is actually simultaneously seen by Big Brother and the audience. When he is revealed, the tunnel breaks apart, the TV-studio is revealed as well and the theatre room is exposed as a construction and fake reality.

REVIEWS

There is an intelligent input where both surrealism and the repeal of time and place, the themes of surveillance and control to expand to a breathtaking range. / In an elegant set design the audience is placed inside the liberty longing Comrade Winston's head. / A dream, a psychosis or a horrible reality unfolding, designed by the eight strong actor with brilliant multimedia features in an expanding and imploding stageroom. / A shining example of a creative but not straining the novel interpretation.

The Stage construction deserves some praising words. A sterile dome that exudes futurism and in the second act surprises to be split into multiple parts before finally being built up again. There is also a large television screen that helps with flickering images and short movie clips and gives a clear and attractive picture of madness when Winston sits and wipes out human existence from the archives. To the pure aesthetic also helps such a simple detail like all are wearing jeans clothes in their sheeplike strive for consistency.

The impressive set design and video projection are raising the whole experience and I leave the theater reminded of how selfish and world from the waiting we live our lives right now.
