We wanted to make a modern, visual and sparkling fairytale and to place the macabre and superficial in Grimms tale in todays beauty contests and competitivenes. The characters and costumes where exaggerated like comic drawings. The scenography by Miriam Buether consisted of moving boxes, as they moved in to the step family. The fairy and other characters came from the boxes and all costumes where created from packing material such as newspaper, bubble wrap, tissue paper, cardboard and so on.

Pop art lands in the recycling society : ballet skirts in bubble wrap and screaming pastel colored costumes made of oilcloth, or suits of newspapers that have passed through a shredder.
